A little bit about Wine…..
Dry is a lack of sweetness, dry mouth feel.
Full Body is the impression of wines weights and size in your mouth.
Texture is the impression wine give when you taste it: like soft, smooth, rough or course, firm or crisp.
Crisp feels clean and slightly brittle in your mouth, the opposite is soft (lack of hardness).
Acidity is more a taste factor in white wine than in red. In white wine the acidity gives it the “crisp” taste. Reds are “soft” in taste because of the low acidity.
A Well Balanced wine has no dominant component.
Medium Dry slightly sweet.
A high quality wine has length (taste lingers) and depth (the underlying layers of taste).
A complex wine has many different aromas and flavors, it keeps revealing different impressions and new flavors.
Tannin is the process of grapes fermented with skins (sometime bitter) which causes the dry taste. Tannin is in Red wine.
